The CPD pathway has a one-year and three-year CPD cycle with four options for recognition. All processes will make use of the CPD logbook that you will find in the My CPD tab of the member portal.
LIANZA has a rigorous professional registration scheme for library and information professionals with graduate qualifications, RLIANZA. This pathway recognises our qualified professionals for their level of knowledge, understanding and competence in the field.
A new universal pathway, the Certified Professional Development scheme(CertLIANZA) will acknowledge members, whatever their pathway into the sector, for their demonstrated commitment to professional development.
CertLIANZA will use theCPD logbook for members to demonstrate continuous professional development of a minimum of 60 hours over three years. Additional requirements will include an employer's letter of endorsement and a self-assessment statement.
Professional Development Certificate– received after completing a minimum of 20 hours of professional development within a 12-month period.
Continuous Professional Development Certificate– received after completing a minimum of 60 hours of professional development within a 36-month period.
Professional development activities will be aligned with the Te Tōtara Capability Framework, and members will need to engage with all three capability elements within the framework.
This is a trust-based system to support your development. However, to ensure rigour and professional standards, 5% of CPD logbooks will be audited.
